What Are Mace Sprays?
Why would you want to use mace sprays anyway? What is the difference between mace sprays and pepper sprays? Are mace sprays harmful or fatal to humans?
If you have ever considered using a self defense spray these might be some of the questions you have asked yourself. When I first considered using mace sprays 10 years ago I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
There were so many different kinds of mace sprays to choose from and I had no idea where to start. Now a days there are even more options to choose from. Below I will try to dissect and explain the questions you may have with mace sprays and help you shed a little more light on the situation.
The first question we will try and answer is how and why we would want to use mace sprays.
Have you or anyone you knew ever been robbed or mugged? Hopefully not, but if you have then that would be a perfect example of when and where to use mace sprays. While out walking around in the park one day you might find yourself in a situation where you need to defend yourself. This is when you break out your mace spray and fire away.
You can also use it while jogging, running, or shopping. There have been several instances when someone was out shopping and a cowardly thief came by and attempted to steal their belongings. If you had mace sprays handy you would be able to deter an attacker with no problem.
Remember, when choosing mace sprays you want to pick the product that is good for you. Deciding what size and the compatibility are all factors you need to take in. Choose a strong product with as much active ingredient as possible. The highest available mace sprays on the market today have a 17% active ingredient.
The next question to tackle is the difference between mace sprays and pepper sprays.
To be honest there are no differences. Besides the active ingredient, brand name, and size, the difference between mace sprays and pepper sprays are nil. Mace spray is just another name for pepper spray. So when you are out and about looking for what type of spray to buy, you can buy mace sprays or pepper sprays, it’s up to you.
Finally last but not least we have the question as to whether or not mace sprays are harmful to humans, or just used to deflect bad guys.
No known studies I am aware of have declared mace sprays deadly to humans. Mace sprays are used mainly as a distraction to give a victim time to run away in case of an attack.
Also, mace sprays are made mostly of all-natural ingredients like capsaicin which is extracted from peppers like chili’s and habaneros. If you ever find yourself worried as to whether or not mace sprays will harm you attacker, remember this, YES they will. They will not kill them but hurt them, and hopefully bad enough to never want to mess with someone like you again.
